Project Description
The Naraya at Wolf Creek is an annual event. It is a spiritual Native American ceremony, which is organized and managed by volunteers and volunteer managers. This year, they wanted to simplify the registration process, as well as making it easier for volunteers to manage this year’s participants. They approached me to create an online registration form, where participants could enter their information, note their preferences (such as special dietary needs, and volunteering preferences), and pay participation fees or make donations.
I created the online form using a PHP framework called CodeIgniter, as well as XHTML, CSS, Javascript, and jQuery. Fees and donations are processed using Paypal’s free Website Payments Standard feature. In addition to the registration form, they needed an admin panel that could be used to manage information about the participants. For example, they needed a list of which people wanted to volunteer for which task, and a running total of how much money had been donated. I created the admin panel (using the same tools as above) to manage the participant list, the directory information, eating preferences (vegan, vegetarian, omnivore, and special diet needs), volunteer preferences, pledge amounts, and printer-friendly release forms which the participants would sign upon arrival.
The form is simple yet nice, and I’m happy to know that the functionality of the form and the admin panel has made registering for/managing the Naraya at Wolf Creek much easier for everyone involved!

A confirmation page listing all information provided by the participant. There are buttons to allow the participant to change their information (if incorrectly entered), and to submit it for registration.

The confirmation page for successfully registered participant, which displays their confirmation code. Additionally, the participant is e-mailed a "Dear Dancer" packet and pertinent information, to the e-mail address they provided.

A donation box, for participants who've already registered but wish to make an additional donation. The box slides down when a participant clicks the "Make a Donation" tab.
