Project Description
This design was for a portfolio website for a fellow designer (and friend of mine), Joseph Flood. He’s an excellent print and logo designer, and a heckuva nice guy, and asked me to create a website he could use to promote himself to potential employers. I created the website’s design (with several mock-ups of the different types of pages), and after a bit of tweaking, received his approval. I then built the back-end to the site using ExpressionEngine, and let him know he could start uploading his portfolio pieces right away.
Some time passed (as time does), and he seemed less excited about the project than he’d originally seemed. After much discussion, he decided not to move forward with this custom-built web portfolio, opting instead to go with the immensely popular Coroflot.com online portfolio system.
Looking at the design now, I realize that I should have created a more image-dynamic design, with less text and a greater variety of color. Still, it’s a good solid design, and I think it would have met Joseph’s needs well.
