As I’ve mentioned throughout this site, I’m very passionate about what I do. It is a driving force in my life, and is highly fulfilling. As a result, I tend to talk about it. At length. To everyone I know. I suspect that this blog will be no exception.

Hopefully, my quirky interests and odd sense of humor won’t confuse/infuriate you. If they do, well, I won’t be offended if you decide to read the musings of someone more interesting than little ol’ me.

Welcome to my brain!

Ah, the first blog post! My first opportunity to make an impression on my potential audience. It’s invigorating… also, a bit terrifying.

I should probably let you all know now that I’m a little weird. My particular brand of oddity springs from my roots. Between the hippie parents and the geeky friends who flock to me, it isn’t too surprising that I ended up this way. Don’t worry, though, I enjoy the hell out of it.

This post will likely be the shortest of the lot, simply because I’m writing it while scrambling to launch my website (a day late, I might add). The whole goal of this post is to give you an idea of what lies ahead, perhaps even a bit a warning. What I really need is a big sign to hang above the door that reads “Beware! Here be geekery” (or I could just post a giant collage of Edward James Olmos and Katee Sackhoff). If there’s one thing I can guarantee you, it’s that there will be plenty of geeky topics to enjoy.

In addition to the subjects of website design and development, this blog will certainly touch on the other areas of my life that spark my curiosity, many of which fall under the category of “huge freakin’ nerd.” At times, you may even be subjected to a bit of philosophy (I’ll try to keep it to a minimum). Mainly, my posts will center around my biggest obsessions: technology, nerdity, and environmental sustainability. As my Twitter profile boldly states, I am a “techie nerdie greenie.” I’m sure I’ve cornered more than one unsuspecting soul at a party and proceeded to yak their ear off about how awesome my CSA is, or my girl-crush on Boing Boing’s Xeni Jardin, or some hilarious article I discovered on Twitter (yeah, that’s right, I just made two Twitter references in two successive sentences… be afraid).

So, abandon hope, all ye non-geeks who enter here. Or, you know, go check out a website about cute kittens or something. It might help ease the pain.
